The Brief
Owning an arcade cabinet has long been a dream and Covid lockdown provided the perfect opportunity to finally start the project. Since it’s a custom build I chose to decorate the cabinet with my own set of fictional character, the Kawaii Kops. Countless hours planning everything out meant that when it was finally time to construct, things went relatively smoothly. Trialing built options in 3D proved a most valuable step as I could workshop ideas easily and quickly before committing to cutting into MDF boards.
The Kawaii Kops are an ongoing character design project featuring a team of undercover detectives working the mean streets of Neo Tokyo.
